I for am glad that the Republicans are looking at cutting NPR's budget. Why should taxpayers have to pay for a government service that has such a politically Liberal bias in it's broadcasts. So much so that they even fire arguably liberal commentators like Juan Williams just because he also comments on the conservative Fox News Channel. I've also mentioned the bias that show up in various programs and news stories that are heard on NPR when they cover important national issues. They use the Orwellian term "undocumented workers" more often than not when describing illegal aliens. This is the influence of Liberal and open borders groups like La Raza have on NPR. Enough is enough! I'm sure their are plenty of Hollywood liberals who could pony up some funds to make up the difference if the government defunds them.
I heard on NPR this evening that the claim that the funding NPR receives from the Federal Government is a minute portion of the budget.
MEMO TO NPR:
Some of us taxpayers think that $400 million is a lot of money to be spending on an organization like NPR that let's it's bias flow out everyday on the airwaves unchecked. Well, maybe now is the time for NPR and PBS to pay the piper and get the money from somewhere else other than the U.S. taxpayers. Though in their minds they may think the world could not live without them. The reality is that NPR and PBS are not "essential government services" even more so in these belt tightening economic times.
